The Printmaking Museum tells the full 40,000‑year story of civil printmaking — from cave handprints to 3D printing — as a human intelligence system. Unlike printing museums focussed on machines, this museum shows printmaking is the ancestor of all science, technology, reading-and-writing, arts, math (STREAM) and shared culture.
History
In June 2026, Bill Ritchie conceived the Printmaking Museum bought the domain name, printmakingmuseum.org, as a working subset of Emeralda Works, LLC site, emeraldaworks.com.
Why Seattle?
Seattle is a global center for art, technology, and innovation. The museum also develops Uptown East’s neighborhood cultural identity, activates underused spaces, and creates intergenerational pathways for art education and entrepreneurship.
Founder's Site
The Mini Art Gallery is the museum’s reception desk and prototyping workspace to demonstrate printmaking, press‑making, 3D-printing display, game development, and Elderkidpreneurs.
